Calendula & Yarrow magic gel is a must-have for the grooming kit. Calendula (marigold) is an oil that is also often selected by animals for its soothing and skin-calming properties.

This formulation is a water-based hydrogel designed to cool, hydrate and soothe irritated-feeling skin. Aloe vera juice provides humectant hydration, while calendula infused in almond oil offers light emolliency to reduce sensations of dryness and tightness. Yarrow essential oil, naturally containing chamazulene, is included for its recognised skin-calming and comforting properties.

Yarrow is a beautiful blue oil and is very gentle and is non-irritating to skin so can be used to soothe where skin is broken as a result of rubs, minor scratches etc.

As with all products containing essential oils, Hedgewitch recommends offering the gel to your horse to smell prior to application, according to the principles of pharmacognosy (animal self-medication).
