Having low expectations of fly repellants for equines, I tried icaridin off label and found it works exactly as I read it would. I applied and watched the midges and flies buzz around for a bit but not land. After a while the sheath area was clear of midges and the body of horse flies. You can spots the bits you missed as the little biters will find these! I applied to 2 ponies out of 5 and watch as 3 twitched their tails and kicked their back legs while the other 2 stood quietly beside them. Early days and I’m optimistic.
Use this in North Antrim as the midges are quite bad sometimes. Works well, isn't sticky and a little bit goes a long way. Definitely recommend.
When applied it stop midges from biting whereas on areas around the eyes I do get bitten. It works.
Best fly spray I’ve tried, including home made recipes! Doing a great job keeping midges away from my midges-causing-sweet itch Shetland. Looking forward to seeing what the horse flies think, but very impressed so far. Highly recommend.
