bite and sting gel provides instant and lasting relief from itchiness and swelling caused by insect bites, nettle stings, and other skin reactions.

It contains the highest quality German chamomile and peppermint essential oils in aloe vera gel. German chamomile essential oil contains chamazulene, which gives it its blue colour, and alpha bisabolol, which both have anti-irritant properties. Peppermint has a cooling effect and immediately takes the itch and heat out of an insect bite.

The aloe vera gel and essential oils are generally non-irritating and non-sensitising to skin. However, essential oils do contain naturally occurring allergens in small quantities, and we strongly recommend a small patch test before proceeding with general use, particularly for horses with a known history of allergies or sensitive skin.

Apply to soon as possible after an insect bite or sting and re-apply as needed.

Aloe barbensis gel, German chamomile (Matricaria recutita) essential oil, Peppermint (Mentha piperita) essential oil.

Avoid contact with eyes. If eye irritation occues, do not wash with water, instead use vegetable oil or milk.

Excellent - immediately eased itching and swelling from horse fly bites on me and on my horses.

This product is a real game changer. It actually works brilliantly! Horsefly season is a real pain, literally so I was very cautious when I tried this, having tried all sorts of products. It works a treat, the flies still hover around but then leave, the occasional ones that land seem dozy and confused and are easy to swat. Even my wife who was very sceptical is impressed, we can confidently even wear shorts which we never do when the horseflies are around. We will definitely be buying more and I can highly recommend.

It really is magic!

This gel has been a lifesaver over this week of high temperatures & insect bites. Whereas previously a bite would cause quite a lot of localised swelling, application of this gel has kept heat & swelling to a minimum. Brilliant stuff!

My chestnut was not allergic to it

My chestnut was not allergic to it. And she is to many products. A big plus. It was effective for about 4 hours. Had to reapply.

Thank you for your feedback and for trying our produt. Now we're out of the heatwave, you should get a longer protection time but it does vary depending on the attractiveness of the individual

Just wanted to clarify that the 150ml bottle and applicator is meant for human use and is not designed to cover a large area like a horse. In fact, at the anticipated application rate for horses, this size bottle will only contain 4 applications (two days if applied twice per day). It's possible that you may not have been applying enough for it to be effective.

Best protection against biting flies. Happy horses under extreme conditions!

I have now purchased 3tubs of this and I still have the problem of itchy legs and feet with my cobs

I have now purchased 3tubs of this and I still have the problem of itchy legs and feet with my cobs, especially one who is a very itchy horse. He has a lot of feather. I tried watering it down a bit to spread it out and continued using for at least 3 weeks every day, but he is still itchy and sometimes as soon as I put it on he will go and rub his legs on the fence post. My other horse has not been stamping his feet as much though I think. I cannot trim his feathers either as he has never had this done and is a rescue pony plus I have no blades to do it and I have had no luck in the past with my other horse trying to trim his feathers. I am still persevering and hope in time it will reduce as it does have neem oil in which is a good deterrent.

Thanks for the review and pleased that one of your horses seems to be improving.

If you have established feathermites, we advise using this product in conjunction with horse oil with sweet orange & peppermint. Both products are intended to relieve and discourage mites naturally but if symptoms don't improve, you may need to consult your veterinary professional about prescribing cydectin.
