Our horse oils are plant-based, sustainable alternatives to pig oil, made specifically to meet the needs of horses. All are suitable for supporting skin health and hair condition in muddy and wet conditions, as grooming aids, and as a long-lasting mane and tail conditioner/detangler.

Contains lemongrass and bay laurel leaf essential oils, which possess natural antibacterial and antifungal properties. Used 2-3 times a week, horse oil will also help support the health and resilience of your horse’s skin through the winter months.

Multiple uses:

  • supports skin in muddy and wet conditions
  • provides a barrier to mites
  • shines & conditions
  • detangles with a longer-lasting effect than silicone sprays
  • aids grooming as mud doesn't stick as badly
  • aids effortless clipping, eliminating 'lines'

Horse oil can be used on feather and legs to support healthy skin in muddy, wet conditions, maintaining feather and discouraging movement of mites.

Horse oil can also be applied sparingly to the coat, mane, and tail to leave the hair silky, shiny, and tangle-free—we advise spritzing using our trigger spray or adding it sparingly to a bucket of warm water as a 'hot oil' application.

Sustainably sourced—made from the oil found in coconuts sourced from sustainable plantations. The coconut oil is heated to separate out the long-chain fatty acids and produce a very light, food-grade oil—using no chemicals in the extraction process. The resulting non-greasy oil is easily absorbed by the skin and moisturises without blocking pores.

Hedgewitch horse oil is 100% plant-based and can be used in exactly the same way as pig oil but without the carbon footprint (pig oil is white oil from petrochemicals).
